  • Thu Aug 17, 2006: Updated kernel patch released in thekernels section. What's new:
    • The 2700G framebuffer (mbxfb) is now functional using Mike Rapoport's driver and a few patches. ( pixclock bug?screen size - 1).
    • Added a spi protocol driver which creates a character device that can be used to communicate over SPI. The driver is included in the kernel patch, but it is also available separately. For more information, please consult the spi-char page.
    • Patch agains 2.6.18-rc2 (I know it's not the latest, I just wanted to release something that works before upgrading).
  • Tue Aug 9, 2006: Updated the chained kernel loader to setup the tagged list correctly. (without it, the kernel uses default values, which are wrong).
  • Tue Aug 8, 2006: Created an howto/faq page, and addeda workaround for the 1.4Mb kernel size limit imposed by Compulab's bootloader (at least on the cm-x255).
  • Tue Jul 4, 2006: Today on the arm-linux-kernel mailing list, Mike Rapoport from Compulab posted a set of 7 patches supporting the cm-x255 and cm-x270 boards. The patches are mostly a duplicate of my work so basically the patches on this page will become obsolete. Good to know Compulab *is* maintaining their kernel and doing it the proper way!
Compulab's patches can be found there, in the messages titled '[PATCH xx/06] CM-x2xx: *':

  • Wed Jun 21, 2006: USB Gadget (usb slave) now working on cm-x270 and touchscreen tested on cm-x270. You can get the latest patch in the kernels section.
  • Tue Jun 20, 2006: The touchscreen controller inside the UCB1400 codec is now supported (Only tested on cm-x255). You can get the latest patch in the kernels section. Check the release notes information about the origin of the UCB1400 support.
  • Wed Jun 16, 2006: USB Gadgets on cm-x255 now compiles and work. Tested with Ethernet gadget. You can get the latest patch in the kernels section, and some release notes on this page.
  • Wed Jun 15, 2006: Converted the v3020 RTC driver to the generic RTC api and rebased the patch for 2.6.17-rc6. Check the kernels section.
  • Tue may 30, 2006: I wanted to use the generic RTC api and the pxa2xx spi driver so my kernel patch is now for 2.6.17-rc5. Check the kernels section.
  • Thu may 25, 2006: Posted an updated 2.6.16.12 patch which adds support for cm-x255. Added a table summarizing what is working, in progress, or todo. Check the kernels section.
  • Mon may 15, 2006: Posted updated patches and info about 2.6.16 on cm-x270. Check the kernels section.
  • Thu may 11, 2006: 2.6.12.2 kernel for cm-x270 updated. USB Master, dm9000 ethernet and v3020 rtc now working. Also, I registered two new machine types to differentiate between cm-x255 and cm-x270 (compulab uses ARMCORE for both). Check the kernels section.
  • Wed may 10, 2006: 2.6.16.2 kernel now boots on the cm-x270. Check the kernels section.
  • Thu may 4, 2006: Explained how to use the NOR flash on cm-x255 with the MTD layer and added comments about the cm-x270 NAND flash driver.
  • Wed may 3, 2006: Released nand flash drivers for the cm-x255 and cm-x270.
  • Tue may 2, 2006: Page creation
